Welcome to my design portfolio.

I am a UX designer leading Spatial AI Content at Google XR. I bring 15 years of experience in product and interaction design to the forefront of XR and wearable technology. My background includes XR experience design, generative AI creation tools, digital assistant integration for wearables, and advanced R&D at Google, Samsung, and Halliburton, as well as founding the social VR startup Vicarious VR.

Google 2023 - 2024

Leads UX strategy and design for Google’s Spatial AI XR program, which includes a 0-1 Mobile AR pilot, Geospatial AR in Maps. This pilot is Google’s first commercial use of it’s Geospatial API in a 1P app, overlaying digital information and 3D models onto the real world as viewed through your phone's camera (onsite) or through Street View (remote). This pilot seeds the field for a Spatial XR content ecosystem.

Geospatial AR / Distribution

Google 2023 - 2024

Developed the content ecosystem for the Geospatial in Maps project, designing the content template, collaborating with Adobe on creation tools, working with 3P partners, and directly creating a Versailles project. Content for the pilot consisted of 50 projects from multiple creators across two regions: Paris and Singapore.

Geospatial AR / Content

Google 2018 - 2019, 2020 - 2023

Led UX design for Assistant integration on Glasses for Google’s long-term Glasses program, which had public reveals at 2022 I/O with a translation demo and 2023 Android XR announcement. Role involved significant work concepting, research, strategy and prototyping as well as the release of Glass EE dev tools.

Glasses / Assistant

Google 2019 - 2020

Brought in to Lead Assistant integration for Pixel Buds launch. Pixel Buds  were Google’s first true-wireless earbuds and kicked off the line of hearables, providing multiple smart features and deep Assistant integration. Tactical in nature, this role covered integration with smart features, conversation flows, new voice commands, and notifications & messaging.

Pixel Buds / Assistant

Google 2018

Took ownership post launch of Google’s VR180 app. In 2018, Google's partnered with 180-stereoscopic camera OEMs to provided an app to streamline camera operation and VR content creation. Contributions included direct upload, Timelapse, OOBE (out-of-box-experience) and “Wigglegram” visual effects.

VR 180 / App

Vicarious VR 2015 - 2018

Co-founded and led product for Vicarious VR, a 360° social media platform that allowed users to create and share immersive stories through a mobile app or VR headset. The product prioritized fast creation, supported free music libraries, and had full feature compatibility (creation and consumption) between 2d and in-VR modes.

Vicarious VR

Samsung SRA 2013 - 2015

Led UX design for the Samsung Gear VR team. The Gear VR was a mobile virtual reality headset powered by Oculus, using Samsung smartphones as its display and processor, offering an early, accessible VR experience. Played central role in the internal establishment of the project, pitching VP leadership and direct partnership with Oculus technical teams.

Gear VR

Samsung SRA 2014 - 2015

Lead UX designer for Milk VR, Samsung's early platform for 360-degree video content, designed specifically for the Gear VR, aiming to provide immersive, readily available VR experiences. As a Samsungs initial launch offering with the Gear VR headset, this project had to establish brand new VR Design Paradigms and interactions.

Milk VR

SMU Guildhall 2010 - 2014

This thesis investigated using game technology, specifically Unity and Oculus Rift, to create a virtual reality representation of a traditionally designed museum. By evaluating this conversion, it aimed to assess the potential of game technology as a new form of architectural representation and identify areas for future research.

SMU / Master’s Thesis

Joeb Moore + Partners 2005 - 2009

Staff architect supporting project lead for design of a $15M luxury home. The LIS Residence sits on the tip of a peninsula. The design juxtaposes solid privacy facing neighbors and stunning  270° views facing the sound.
